Preview: Queens Park Rangers v Manchester City

Roberto Mancini will look to follow up Wednesday’s away victory with another against QPR. The manager has promised to rotate the team after the midweek fixture and it will be interesting to see who comes in.

One player definitely out is the suspended Vincent Kompany and either Stefan Savic or Kolo Toure should partner Joleon Lescott. It will be a real vote of confidence in 20-year-old Savic if he is selected to start his second game in four days.

Mancini is in the habit of rotating his full-backs yet Clichy might be better suited to dealing with the pace of Wright-Phillips rather than Kolarov. The midfield and attack could be freshened up by Barry, Aguero, Dzeko and Johnson all returning to the starting line-up.

It’s this level of rotation after Champions League fixtures that has enabled the top teams to be successful in the Premier League and Roberto Mancini now has the squad depth to do the same.

Flying straight from Spain to London was unusual preparation and it will be interesting to see the resulting performance. QPR aren’t in great form, despite winning their last home match against Chelsea.

No doubt Joey Barton and Wright-Phillips will be looking to do well against their old team, but another professional performance should be enough to earn three more points.
