Boateng – A slow start had Mancini fuming. Grew into the game but needs to avoid the Kolarov tendency of bombing forward too early. 6

Preview: Manchester City v Blackpool

City look to complete their second league double against a Blackpool team that has won a remarkable five away games already this season. Ian Holloway has promised to attack and for these reasons the Tangerines look a more dangerous proposition than the Villa side beaten on Tuesday. Who would have thought that at the start of the season?

It will be interesting to see who starts today following the rotation for the Villa game. Tevez is the most obvious candidate to return, yet Mancini may want to save him for Arsenal on Wednesday if there are any doubts about his tight hamstring.

Richards – Noticeable how Micah brings more aggression to his game than Boateng. An accomplished return after missing the last couple of games. 7

Preview: Manchester City v Aston Villa

Thanks to yet another away victory, City go into the game against Villa in good spirits. With Blackpool also paying us a visit at the weekend, all we need to do is bring our away form to Eastlands.

The key for Mancini will be to score the first goal, preferably before any anxiety sets in amongst the crowd. Villa’s spirits will be low after losing at home to 10 man Spurs and an early goal could enable City to capitalise.
