Thanks to yet another away victory, City go into the game against Villa in good spirits. With Blackpool also paying us a visit at the weekend, all we need to do is bring our away form to Eastlands.
The key for Mancini will be to score the first goal, preferably before any anxiety sets in amongst the crowd. Villa’s spirits will be low after losing at home to 10 man Spurs and an early goal could enable City to capitalise.

City wasted no time in returning to winning ways as two goals in the opening six minutes set the blues on their way to a double over a highly competitive Newcastle side. Once again Carlos Tevez was the talismanic hero with an assist and two goals to seal the victory.
Tevez intercepted a poor pass from Krul and played in Barry who finished with a sharp shot between the Newcastle keeper’s legs. A couple of minutes later and another poor pass by the home side again saw our captain bearing down on goal.

Following the disappointment of defeat to Everton, the need to start the Christmas period with a win at Newcastle is all the more pressing. It’s unlikely to be easy with Alan Pardew having had a winning start by beating Liverpool last weekend.
The St James’ Park crowd will no doubt add to the pressure on City with a hostile reception for Nigel de Jong following the media fuelled frenzy after his leg-break tackle on Hatem Ben Arfa.
